AKSU’s latest ready-to-wear collection “PATEH” has marked a significant milestone in the brand’s 3 years span. The collection was launched through AKSU’s first international and digital fashion show event, at Paris Fashion Week (PFW) 2020 Spring/Summer 2021 on last October 5th. With each year covering different cultures in Indonesia, the fourth chosen culture is from the renowned paradise island of Bali, and their oldest tribe called Bali Aga. PATEH 2020 is AKSU’s fourth ‘casual series’ collection – consisting 10 looks of all womenswear – which is now available for Pre-Order.

“PATEH” collection embraces how the Balinese deeply embedded into their lives to stay balance, – on joy and sadness or good and evil – thus appreciating differences while being one and equal. Being PATEH, a local term that means “same”. Thus, conveying the concept of balancing duality, as how the Bali Aga – the indigenous people of Bali – embraces equality and respect between all living things. This also connects to a Balinese philosophy, “Rwa Bhineda” that defines how two opposites would create a cosmic balance.

Through designs and silhouettes, there are accents of strings, knots and twists, that reflect the Balienese‘ harmony of connection and togetherness. Cuts are kept sleek and simple, with continuous figure hugging silhouettes and “balancing proportion” in the overall aesthetic. Traditional influences also include Bali Aga’s ritual; the “Pandan War” which tells about restoring peace and purity, and the concept of symmetry and strength; derived from Bali Aga’s “Geringsingan” textile‘s weaving technique. The collection portrays calm yet popping colors that symbolizes Bali’s signature tones, incorporated with diverse fabric with mostly lightweight material.

Organized by Fashion Division (FD) Asia.Europe and FD Paris – Asia’s first Fashion Career Center and enrichment program provider -, AKSU ’s PATEH collection at PFW was showcased digitally, along with four local Indonesian brands; Var Erte, Hanyutan, ES EM EL and AM by Anggiasari. The fashion show was debuted on www.fashionweekonline.com at 6PM (Paris Time) / 11PM (Jakarta Time) October 5th 2020, with Château de Bourron, France, as the venue. The video is now also available to watch online on Fashion Division’s Youtube Channel (Video Title: FASHION DIVISION ASIA.EUROPE DIGITAL SHOW – SS 2021 Château de Bourron) or AKSU Youtube Channel.
